Revision
Hip Surgery
There are several reasons for a patient
to require revision hip surgery, and with the latest advances in hip replacement and
resurfacing technology, these revisions can now be completed in operations that usually
take between 3 - 4 hours, with patients expecting a stay in hospital of between 10 and 14
days.
Mr Singer runs a popular hip revision
clinic, and prefers to make uncemented revisions, using the latest techniques and
implants, to preserve the bone stock wherever possible.
In cases where there is insufficient bone
is available, Mr Singer can perform a bone graft.
In the example x-rays below (click the x-rays to enlarge),
you can see images of an aseptic loosening Charnley Hip in a 59 year old male.

The following x-rays (click the x-rays to enlarge)
now show the same hip with the revision to an Uncemented cup with a bone graft and a
modular uncemented stem, as performed by Mr Singer.
